WHAT WE DO  |  SELECTED PROJECTS

2004-2006 - PILOT  The Pilot Project launched the rising Gilthead Sea Bream, 2 km offshore in the Mediterranean Sea.
2006 - PROJECT MED 1 First commercial net-cage system with a production capacity of 350 tons/year. Located 11 km offshore of Israel's Southern Coast at the depth of 60 meters.
2006 -2008 - PROJECT MED 2-3 An expansion of Project Med 1. Two more cages were added, also with a production capacity of 350 tons/year.
2009 – PROJECT MED 4  Upgraded our cutting-edge technology, creating the largest offshore cage system in the world. Production capacity: 1000 tons/year.
2015 – 2019 PROJECT OCEAN FISH - European Commission

Gaining world recognition, the company was officially selected as a promising technology by the EU Commission, receiving funding for additional R&D under Horizon 2020, the largest to date EU Research & Development Program for “world-class science.

Further increasing efficiency and bringing them closer to commercialization, complimentary advanced technology (e.g. automatic feeding, image processing & mechanical components) has been developed with the contribution of the program, transforming Gili's existing Subflex Classic systems into an advanced open ocean system while improving growth rates and making operations more streamlined.

2016-2018 PROJECT MED 5 - Open Sea Aquaculture Ltd GiliOcean has recently constructed and deployed the world’s largest commercial offshore system which was fully designed and delivered to "Open Sea Aquaculture Ltd." The system has a production capacity of 1600ton/year, located 15 kilometers off the coast of Israel.
